Documentary Film Honors Legacy of Community Impact by Regional Construction Leaders

The team at Passage Creative had the honor of producing a documentary piece chronicling Mike and Mickeye Murphy's life of community service, business growth, and local impact in the South Central Kentucky region. The Community Foundation is starting an endowment in their honor that will go on to leave a legacy of impact that last generations, just like the buildings Mike and Mickeye have built through their companies. The Challenge

We were charged with telling a story of lifelong community impact by Mike and Mickeye Murphy – a couple driven by faith, love of community, and family. Because Mike had passed in December of 2025, several tribute videos had already been made. We needed to make something distinct and emotionally impactful that also hit a lot of themes: faith, community, business success, and philanthropy.

Our Approach

We partnered with the Community Foundation team to select interviews that would speak more to Mike and Mickeye's character, from lifelong caretakers and personal friends, to underdogs that Mike took a chance on. The approach was to produce a cinematic documentary that was emotionally resonant but also spoke to the goals of the Community Foundation and why the Murphy's are so exemplary.
